The Boomerang Retirees

New research by the University of Manchester and King's College London has found that one in four retirees are returning to paid work, with most of these doing so within five years of retirement. The study found that men were more likely to return to work than women (by 26%) and that those whose partner was still in work were 31% more likely to unretire than those whose partner was not in work. Retirees with post secondary qualifications were almost twice as likely as those with no qualifications to return to work.
