  • One in three women pulled up at work for their appearance deemed to be 'distracting' men

Research carried out by Voucher Codes Pro has found that one in four UK women have been warned about their appearance in the workplace by management, with 35% of these women stating that a key reason that they were spoken to was because they were deemed a distraction to male colleagues.

The research also found a distinct difference between the reactions of men and women when they are pulled up on their appearance, with reactions such as feeling embarrassed (33%), angry (30%) and singled out (25%) being common among women, whereas 72% of men commented that they simply 'shrugged off' appearance related criticism. Following the warning, 73% of women made changes, compared to only 44% of men.
