New research from recruiter Badenoch and Clark has found that three in five disabled employees in the UK have experienced workplace bias. As a consequence, 48% of disabled candidates have either resigned or not applied for a role or promotion. The research also found that those with mental disabilities are far more likely to experience workplace bias than those with more visible physical disabilities. 65% of respondents with a mental disability reported that their workplace didn't offer an inclusive environment and 60% tried to hide their condition when applying for a job. 45% of those with a physical disability responded that their working environment wasn't inclusive and 51% attempted to hide their condition during the recruitment process.
