Diversity & Inclusion in the STEM Sectors

enei’s thought-leadership conference “STEM : A Roadmap to Success” delivered a comprehensive overview of the issues faced by employers around STEM:

  • UK employers are increasingly struggling to find qualified candidates roles
  • Too few students are pursuing STEM subjects
  • There is a huge gender divide, with women and girls actively avoiding STEM opportunities.

The STEM Action Group provides you with a unique opportunity to debate with other enei Members who want to lead the change on Diversity & Inclusion in the STEM sector. We will discuss best practice and practical solution to connect schools and businesses and increase the STEM talent pool.

During this Roundtable, we will focus on providing direction and practical solutions that enable employers to understand the educational context, involving key stakeholders and, demonstrating how best to increase participation of qualified people into the workplace. We will address in particular:

  • Breadth of STEM: STEM is not just about engineering, and engineering roles are not just about engineering.
  • Diversity within STEM roles (e.g., disability, race, not just gender).
  • Social mobility within STEM roles.
  • What can you do that will make a difference?
