Do you want to play a key role in an organisation which stands up for children? Then join us as Diversity, Access & Inclusion Specialist. This brand new role will see you be accountable for the Diversity, Access & Inclusion strategy for Save the Children UK.

In our Support Services department, we fight for children every single day. We provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Diversity, Access & Inclusion Specialist, you will work with key stakeholders to develop and embed an organisation-wide strategy and action plan that will create a more inclusive workforce. As well as providing consultative services, guidance and capacity building across the organisation on how to champion diversity and inclusion, you will also positively influence cultural and behaviour change and build an inclusive workforce. In addition you will:

  • Work with key stakeholders to build organisational culture by increasing understanding of conscious and unconscious bias, discrimination and equality around all aspects of diversity, access and inclusion
  • Ensure that all related policies and practices reflect the SCUK’s values and are legally compliant, are an integral element of organisational culture and are being implemented throughout the organisation
  • Provide training, guidance and support for staff to embed good practice around diversity, access and inclusion
  • Improve the attraction, recruitment, development and retention of a diverse workforce at all SCUK offices.

To be successful you will significant experience working at a senior level developing, managing and evaluating equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives. As well as excellent communication and inter-personal skills, you will have a demonstrable understanding of discrimination legislation. Relevant diversity and inclusion experience gained in complex organisations with multiple stakeholders is also essential. In addition you will have:

  • Knowledge of current thinking in Diversity and Inclusion issues and trends and evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Experience of consulting with leaders and managers to integrate principles of diversity, access and inclusion and best practice into organisational processes
  • Demonstrable project management experience (analysis, design and implementation)
  • The ability to plan and organise own work efficiently, prioritise tasks and deliver to deadlines under pressure.
